According to police, a 17-year-old male who lives in Carlsbad was arrested Monday afternoon on the 2900 block of Ocean Street.
Because of his age, his name hasn’t been released at this time. The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office will decide whether to prosecute him as an adult.
“We understand that the community has been on edge since that tragic day in November when Lisa was found on Hosp Grove Trail,” stated Investigations Lieutenant Jason Jackowski. “Our unwavering mission has been to find the suspect for Lisa, her family and the community of Carlsbad.”
Dedication, advanced forensics, and tips from the community played a part in solving this crime.
As stated, the suspect is a Carlsbad resident, NOT a transient and NOT an undocumented worker. All of the disgusting vigilantism and hate chatter did nothing but to divert crucial law enforcement support from real crimes. Jumping to that conclusion did nothing but reveal the egregious lack of character and inherent racism in some of our neighbors.
As soon as there’s more information available, I’ll update this post.
